(Also known as “8th and Eye“)

1. Location of the Commandant’s quarters located at 8th and I Streets, Southeast in Washington, D.C. 2. Location of Marine Barracks, WA, the Marine Corps Band and Drum and Bugle Corps and the MCI 3. Ceremonial home of the Corps (background) the Commandant”s quarters was the only public building not set afire when the British overran Washington, DC in the War of 1812, some say because of their stoic defense at Bladensburg Pike. 8th and Eye is the street location.
